Alcohol Use disorders (AUDs) affect up to 12% of men and 5% of women in the United States.  Data published in April 2013, reveals:

  • The overall risk of death increased nearly 3 times for men and over 4.5 times for women with Alcohol Use Disorders when compared to those without Alcohol Use Disorders
  • Among people under 40 years old, the risk of death increased 9 times for men with Alcohol Use Disorders and over 13-times for women with Alcohol Use Disorders
